Personality
Upon first meeting her, Serin may seem like she hasn't got much going on in her head or that she doesn't fully understand the consequences of things. It's a common impression that she's a total idiot and going to get herself killed one day, but she doesn't really mind. In her head, everything she does has a reason to it and she is always fully aware of the consequences. She'll do dangerous acts only after planning and calculating them out fully in her head, but she doesn't like explaining her train of thought to others before or after the act. She's usually social and friendly enough, but she is very opinionated and won't hesitate to speak her mind. However, she is very careful with the arguments she picks and usually tries to keep discussions on a friendly level instead of an argument. She thinks pretty highly of herself intellectually, though in reality, she may not be very smart at all. She does have a problem with her body, with it being so small and easily harmed. She is very hard to offend, but her feelings could get a bit irritated if her size were to be targeted. Typically, she is level headed, bluntly honest and not so stubborn on her opinions (however strongly she may feel), she can be convinced if the other side presents a good enough reasoning. Loyalty is one of her more noticeable traits and one of the only things she'd consider worth a gruesome fight to prove.
History
Serin started off well, her father the ruler of a moderately sized her and her mother one of his higher ranked mistresses. Everything was very well organized by rank and each horse knew to obey what they were assigned and to do their job correctly. As the daughter of a mistress, it was Serin's job to keep the heiress company so she could offer guidance and be an acceptable replacement should the heiress fall. She always thought she did very well at her job and that the heiress had a few places where she could definitely use improvement.. not that their father would ever see that. As she grew older, she grew tired of having to watch some biased, silly mare make increasingly more influential decisions in the herd. She often confided in her father about her worries over the filly, but he would remind her that she didn't have any say in it until the heiress died or was rendered incapable of maintaining her job. This didn't sit very well with Serin, she didn't like the idea that she wouldn't be promoted because of her knack for the position, but only because of her bloodlines. It seemed like a bad idea to keep a herd going only based on bloodlines and frankly, the young mare had better plans than to wait around for this dimwitted filly to take over and constantly ask for her guidance. So she left once she felt she was strong enough to live on her own, which caused only minor upset in the herd as there were several other children out of mistresses to take her place. From there she moved on until she found new lands to try and make a name for herself in.
